New technique

Category: Spray Paint, Tutorials

Hey everybody, i just wanted to talk about a new technique i saw recently. I usually use magazine for making textures when i paint, but i saw this guy who was using plastic wrap and it was making this really cool, rough looking texture. If anyone has used this technique before share comments and tell us whats special about it.

I am going to try it out on my next painting and I’ll put up some pictures of how it turns out…hopefully not blurry ones.

I use this technique all the time, mostly for backgrounds in my paintings. I love the texture and depth it adds. When you use plastic wrap (or plastic dropcloth like I do) sometimes the paint that gets stuck to the plastic will stick to your tacky wet paint if you use the same piece later on giving it even more depth. I can also mix paint on the plastic and then splat it on. You can also paint designs onto the plastic and stick them on top of your wet paint which adds even more depth. Good luck with your trial using plastic wrap.
